The establishment of Kaaseman Rural Bank Limited came as a feat need by a large number of cocoa farmers in and around Sefwi Kaase for banking services to facilitate, especially, the payment of dried cocoa beans sold to the Government of Ghana through various licensed cocoa buying companies.
Kaaseman Rural Bank Limited was incorporated on October 22, 1987, under Ghana’s Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179). The bank was issued a license to commence the business of banking on November 2, 1987, under the Banking Act, 1970 (Act 339). The bank was commissioned on November 12, 1987, as the 116th rural bank in the country. It is a service provider in rural financial intermediation.
Officially, the bank has its Headquarters located at Sefwi Kaase in the Bia East District of the Western Region of Ghana but has currently been annexed to Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region because of some infrastructural problems.
The bank currently has nine (9) branches often called agencies cutting across six administrative municipalities and districts of the country namely Debiso agency, Yawmatwa agency and Oseikojokrom agency all in the Bia West District of the Western Region. The others are the Berekum agency in the Berekum Municipality, Drobo agency and Adamsu agency in the Jaman South District, Dormaa agency in the Dormaa Municipality, and Sunyani agency in the Sunyani Municipality and Techiman agency in the Techiman municipality all in the Brong Ahafo Region.
